Halle Berry has confirmed the possibility of a John Wick spinoff that could involve her character Sofia, who appeared in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Berry, who played a deadly dog-loving assassin, revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that, while she did not return for John Wick: Chapter 4, there have been discussions with Lionsgate about developing a project centered around her character.
John Wick Has More Spinoffs Coming
Sofia was introduced as an ally in the third installment of the series, where she provided crucial assistance to the former hitman. Despite her contribution to the plot, her story was not explored further in subsequent installments. Berry expressed her desire to see Sofia evolve, believing that the storyline could have been developed further. However, while there is no official confirmation yet, the actress has stated that the potential spin-off is still being discussed, and she would be open to reprising the role.
The idea of a Sofia spin-off could be an interesting evolution for the franchise, which has already explored strong and complex female characters. Berry has stressed her passion for the character and the John Wick narrative universe, suggesting that a possible return of her character could happen “sooner rather than later.”
This potential spin-off would come at a time when the franchise is in full expansion. In addition to the four main films, the saga is already expanding with several side projects. The Continental, a series set in the John Wick universe, is on the way, as is Ballerina, another spin-off scheduled for next year that will star Ana de Armas.
